Hunting, outdoors & technology
I’m a college student on the pre-medicine track with a lifelong passion for hunting, the outdoors, and technology. I started Jake’s Deer Drone Recovery as a way to combine my love for the outdoors with my experience flying drones and thermal imaging.
As a hunter myself, I understand how much time, preparation, and effort goes into every hunt—and how important it is to make every effort to recover an animal. My goal is to provide hunters throughout southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia with a reliable, professional option when traditional tracking becomes difficult.
Whether it’s a straightforward recovery or a challenging search, I take every call seriously and do my best to help bring hunters the answers and closure they’re looking for.

When should I call for a drone recovery?
As soon as you believe you may need assistance. Calling early gives us the best chance to discuss the situation, location, weather, and timing of the search.
Are you available 24/7?
Yes. Call 24/7 for the fastest response. Recovery requests can be time-sensitive, so calling is the best way to reach me quickly.
What areas do you service?
We primarily serve our listed counties in southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia. Travel to extended areas may be available when needed. Call to discuss your location.
How does thermal drone deer recovery work?
A thermal-equipped drone is flown over the search area to look for heat signatures and other signs that may help locate the deer.
Can you fly at night?
Yes, we can fly at night.
What information should I have ready when I call?
Your location, time of the shot, where the deer was last seen, shot placement if known, direction of travel, blood or sign observed, and any tracking already performed are all helpful.
How quickly can you get here?
Response time depends on your location, current recovery calls, weather, and flight conditions. Call for the fastest response and current availability.
